Powerchurch can only import transactions from a file, if you could explain what you're attempting to do, we may have more information to assist.

As mentioned in the membership topic you created, if you're trying to convert an entire database from a different program, it can be much easier to have Powerchurch do the conversion for you.

Maximum envelope number

Just entering data into the trial version, hit a snag. Do I see that envelope numbers must be no more than 5 decimal digit integers? In our prior package, member numbers were a 6 digit number, 4 digit whole number plus 2 digit fraction for the family individual number.

This member number is the identifier output from Contribution history, so I have created a 6 digit whole number, doesn't seem to work.

Yes, to convert over 2000+ individuals and over 1000+ family units, we'll pay to have PowerChurch Software do it. But for testing, I'm creating a typical data set and importing. Envelope numbers are what tie member data to contribution data in PC+, weren't needed nor did we ever define in our prior ChMS.

Using envelope numbers actually makes it easier to enter contributions, as long as your church uses envelopes. If not, it is still a good way to separate out members from visitors, and inactive records from active ones.

There are a few threads on how to setup envelope numbering in the contributions forum.
