I never tried this before, but it did work.

I went to Fund Accounting, Copy Budget to Next Year. (I have a budget set up in 2009).

Then I ran a graph from January 2010 through December 2010. It didn't matter if I selected the box to include accounts with zero amounts or not. It worked either way.

I didn't select the option to compare to budget.

I saw the budget amounts per month and per account, whichever I selected.

I tried this but did not have the option to select a year after 2009. How did you accomplish that?

Hmmm. It should.

Are you using version 10?

Are you currently in 2009?

When I go to Fund Accounting, Graphs, I have the choice of months (I'm in August), and the choice of 2008, 2009, 2010 for years.

I ma using v10 but my year choices are from 2004 to 2009. There is no choice for 2010.

I did a restart accounting move at the beginning of 2009, which is why I am limited in history.

I did the "copy budget to next year" move before looking at the GRAPH options. Did you already do that? Maybe that is giving me the ability to look forward.

I tried this by selecting jan-dec 2010 and also only changing to see the "expense" and the "account" it told me " no accout was found to graph" ??? I do have my budget set up for 2010??????

It told me that "no account was found to graph" when I tried to compare the budget figures to actual. But without that selected, it showed me the graph.

You can check in Fund Accounting - Maintain Chart of Accounts - Budget tab on an account that you think you have a budget set up, to see if there are any budget numbers set up for 2010.

There are budget numbers set for 2010 but the choice does not show up in the list.

John, Amanda, and Tom, how many months do you have set to be open at a time?

File > Preferences > Accounting Setup > Fund Accounting tab > Number of months that can be open at one time.

I guess your last closed month would be important to know as well.

There is some code in the program that calculates what range of months are "open" when running reports and doing other things. John may have a wider range of months open that ranges into 2010 where Amanda and Tom's range of "open" months do not reach into 2010.

I would have to do more research into the behavior, but that's my guess.

I am set to 6 months open at a time, and I am closed through July 2010, and my fiscal year is set to start in January.

I have max number of months open, so I am currently open from June 2008 thru Sept 2009.

OK, I have verified that if your range of open months spans into 2010, you will see 2010 on the graphs page.

I had 6 months open, from Jan 2009 to June 2009. Opened graphs, 2008 and 2009 only.

I changed to 18 months open, from Jan 2009 to June 2010. Opened graphs, 2008, 2009, and 2010.

I also have the max amount of months open on mine, but what would that have to do with your "Budget" showing up for 2010?
Also I tried the other suggestion and picked Jan - Dec. 2010 and had "month" selected and "expense" selected, a BLANK graph would come up???? :wall:

The issue is if you have 18 months open, but those months only go through Nov 2009, anything past that would not be available for access by the program. In other words, you should close those earlier months, probably most of 2008.
