Hi folks,
I have reconciled my accounts records with the bank statement. however when i run a balance sheet report, there is a difference. Now the difference amounts exactly to the unreconciled checks that have not been presented at the bank and therefore not in the statement. I need your help to fix this issue. Thanks

I think you're okay.

If your PowerChurch checking balance is $3,000.00, and you have cut $500.00 in checks that haven't cleared the bank, and there are no outstanding deposits, your bank statement should show $3,500.00.

When you reconcile in PowerChurch, you would show this:

Bank statement balance: $3,500.00
- outstanding checks: $500.00
+ outstanding deposits $0.00
---------------------------------
Adjusted bank balance $3,000.00
Account 1110 balance $3,000.00
------------------------------------
To balance $0.00

Note: Your bank statement shows $3,500 and your 1110 balance shows $3,000, and you are all set.

unless...

I misunderstood what you were asking.

After you reconcile; when you run your balance sheet, run it for the next month.
Example:
You reconcile October;then run your Bank Reconciliation Report (will be for Oct), Check Register (Unreconciled checks: Jan-the date you Rec.'d, ie 1/1-11/6 on mine) & your Nov. Balance Sheet.

Your Adjusted bank balance on your Bank Rec. should match:
Check Register (Unrec.'d) Ending Balance
Balance Sheet Checking Account Balance

I hope this helps you,
Kristi
