Housing Allowances

Hi,
Regarding housing allowances.....should these be paid and reported through payroll? Currently, our monthly housing allowances to our pastors are paid separately through the Accounts Payable module...nothing in payroll. I was just wondering if housing allowances should be paid via payroll.

They can, and should as it can then be reported to the IRS via the W-2 without having to modify the W-2 by typing in this information.
