Last year, 2009, I emptied out two funds because they had become redundant. In trying to delete them then, v.9 wouldn't let me because they had had monies in them early in the year. In order to make it a bit easier to do consolidated Balance Sheets and Income Statements, I renumbered and saved them as Fund 98 and Fund 99.
This year, 2010, I go to Fund Accounting | Maintain List of Accounting Funds and I am able to delete the two original funds (04 and 05) but there is no sign of 98 and 99 which I also want to delete. If I run a Chart of Accounts Fund Comparison report, 04 and 05 are gone, but 98 and 99 are still there.
In Maintain Chart of Accounts, there is no sign of the accounts shown on the report. They still show up on Consolidated Financial Statements.
How can I delete them if they don't show in Maintain List of Accounting Funds?

Re: Spring Fund Cleaning
It sounds like you have duplicate data files in your installation of PowerChurch Plus. When printed reports say one thing, but looking at the screens in the program say something else, that is most usually the case.
Before getting started, in PowerChurch Plus, make a backup from under the Utilities > Backup & Restore > Backup Files. Take a look inside the PCPLUS9 program directory in a My Computer window. Open a second My Computer window and take a look inside the Data folder found inside the PCPLUS9 directory. Bring the two windows up side by side and compare the files. Any file or folder that you find inside the Data folder should be deleted from the root of the PCPLUS9 folder.
This situation happens when someone tries to backup and restore data by copying the data files directly and pastes them into the wrong place.

Re: Spring Fund Cleaning
Darn. Just looked at comparing data between directories, but there were no duplicates.
Then I had a closer look. The other person who enters data to Accounting had made one entry in Fund 98, and reversed it after it was found to have been incorrectly entered (Dec. 17, 2009).
In all the other Account Activities for funds 98 and 99, the latest entry was July, 2009.
Would it be a correct assumption that if one closes all months through December, 2009, that the funds could then be deleted? ... or will the transactions in 2009 still cause the funds to be undeletable?

Re: Spring Fund Cleaning
Since the newer versions of PowerChurch Plus (version 9 and higher) hang on to the transaction history forever, or until you choose to delete the history, you won't be able to delete the fund now, because of the posted history.
