Fund Report vs Journal Report

Post by trees »

When comparing Fund Report totals for 2009 and Journal Report for 2009, there are discrepancies in some totals. I am using version 10.
Also, how can I remove accounts not in use from showing on my Income/Expense Report?

Not sure what you are comparing.

What you call the "Fund Report". Is that the Balance Sheet by Fund?

If so, what are you comparing to the Journal report. These reports show different kinds of information and totals.

You can set an account to inactive by locating an account in Maintain Chart of Accounts, click on the Detail tab, and look in the upper right-hand corner for ACTIVE. Deselect it.

The Fund report generated from Contribution is listing e.g., $120,000 in plegdes, vs Journal Report in Fund Accounting list pledges for an amount that is higher for the same period.

Sorry, I'm not following this. Where does the Fund Accounting Journal Report show pledges?

I may be missing something here but it would appear to me that you comparing apples and oranges here. The Funds Report in the Contribution Module is giving you the total of contributions only. The Journal Report in Fund accounting is reporting the total income from all sources in each selected fund. I would be very surprised if they did match since you would most certainly have income from other sources outside of contributions.

If I select a fund e.g., Bldg fund - contributions to the building fund does not match e.g., selection report for the same bldg chart of account in fund reporting.
Sorry that I am not explaining this for you to understand. I am new to PC.

Could you list the menu selections you are making to get the reports you are talking about in each case. This will make it easier to determine what you are trying to do.

If you are trying to verify the Building Fund contributions in Fund accounting, run an "Account Activity" report in Fund Account either on the building fund checking account or the building fund income account that are listed in the Contribution Fund.
