Hi, my name is Carol and I am the Financial Secretary at my church. I am a fairly new user to Power Church Plus. My problem is that I cannot seem to reconcile the bank statements so I can close out 2009. We have Windows XP 2002 and Power Church Plus 2009 version. When I try to bring up the reconciliation for a specific bank account, either it comes up with a blank list or the information on the list is already reconciled. Am I doing something wrong? If a list of payments etc does come up and I am able to reconcile it should there be an amount to balance left or should it be 0.00? When I took office, the previous person didn't know much about Power Church so she couldn't show me anything.
Help !!!!!!!!!!!!

This is actually an Accounting question ... just so you know for next time, each area of the program has its own forum, so the Accounting forum would be the location for this question.csimmons wrote:Hi, my name is Carol and I am the Financial Secretary at my church. That said, I'm not sure what you mean by Powerchurch 2009 version, if you mean Version 10.4 with a date of July 2009, that I understand
Even so, in version 10.4 and 11 the reconcile bank accounts dialog is the same. Are you selecting All Data when you run the report ??
You can get HELP in any screen by pressing the F1 function key, or selecting Search for help on .. from the HELP pull-down menu and typing in Bank Reconciliation it will give you more info on the process.

Thank you for your reply. I will try to use the command feature and see what happens.

Re: reconciliation
When you say that your reconciliation either comes up all or nothing, I am guessing it is because you tried first to show ALL, and then show ONLY UNRECONCILED.
The first way shows all (and you say that everything is reconciled), and the second way shows none (which confirms that everything is, indeed, reconciled).
I want to guess that you have no unreconciled transactions at this time, since the last reconciliation. You should be able to find a bank statement whose balance agrees with yours, and in the reconciliation summary, there should be no outstanding deposits nor checks.
If you print a check, see if it shows up in the reconciliation window.
