Second state in payroll ver 11

I just installed ver 11 and went through the payroll update. There is only one option for state identification number for withholdings but we have 2 states. How is the second state id input for W-2 processing or other purposes? Thanks!

I cannot find the place you are referencing.

Which menu are you on?

This issue arose when I had to complete the payroll update upon installation. I had to check the accounts that went with the respective tax schedules, the number of exemptions per employee, etc. Towards the end, a screen asked for the state abbreviation and ID number, I assume for W-2 purposes. However, it allowed for only one state. I am not at the church now to guide through the steps but it was during the payroll conversion.

To add a second state tax id, you will need to add a second state tax type.

Go to Accounting > Payroll > Setup > Maintain Tax Types.

For example, North Carolina and South Carolina would be two separate tax types, each with its own state tax id.

Thanks! I will try that this evening when I go to choir practice. I also just got the notice of an update already so will do that, too. Thanks again!
