deposits

Post by Jeanie »

Now I am putting in the deposits for January. I wanted to make sure I am doing it right. I am in FA entering transactions so I debit my general fund for the total amount and credit the different areas it goes to such as Tithes & offerings, bus, building, etc? Is this right? thanks.

Jeanie,

I take it you're not using the Contributions Module, if you are, when you post in Contributions, you can automatically create the proper transactions in Funds Accounting if you select Update Funds Accounting.

These will be dropped in the Unposted Transactions queue in Funds Accounting, so you can review and update if necessary.

That said.

If you're doing this all by hand, for deposits, you're going to DEBIT your checking account, and CREDIT the income account.
