balance sheet
Several years ago when we first started using the bookkeeping in this program we had an outside company set it up for us. When I pulled the Balance Sheet it shows a couple of accounts that were never monitored from this program and actually no longer exist. One was for a fund when we had a youth camp program run independently from a completely different account. And one was an account from another bank but the amount is incorrect. Is there a way to delete these funds, they had nothing to do with this account.
Re: balance sheet
You can't delete an account that had transactions against them. You can clear old data starting from a point going backwards.Dione Clagg wrote: ↑Tue Apr 29, 2025 10:26 amSeveral years ago when we first started using the bookkeeping in this program we had an outside company set it up for us. That said, please explain exactly what you want to see:
a) the funds not appear in the balance sheet?
b) delete the funds and/or accounts completely ?
You can do 'a' by going to each account and unchecking the 'active' box. They will still show in the CoA, but not total up in any report.
That said, could you be more specific about what you mean by 'accounts never monitored by the program'? Do you mean they never had any balances? If so, you should be able to delete them.
Then you talk about a 'fund' are you talking about an Accounting Fund? To be specific, the main checking and expenses accounts are probably listed as being in the "01 - Operations Fund" as that's the default of the program.
If this youth camp fund, is separate from the operations fund, had no transactions against it, you should be able to head to 'maintain list of Accounting Funds' and uncheck the 'active' box to make it inactive. You should be able to delete it.
Again, this is all assumption as I have no idea how these are setup. Without more info, we can only guess.
