Need to make Fund Balance adjustment

Hello,
Our mother church started a separate fund for our church called "Church Plant Fund." They decided to support us until we went out on our own officially. As soon as we did, we also "borrowed" some money to build up our checking account. So for about a month we deposited all contributions, but they paid our expenses.
They are now wondering how they get their Church Plant Fund to equal exactly what we actually owe them now. They have about ($11K) showing in the fund, but they need it to show what we actually owe them ($4k). Any ideas?
Will they just have to expense this difference at some point?
Thanks in advance,
Joel
