New Chart of Accounts

Post by Riverside-MB-Church »

I'm setting up a new Chart of Accounts for calendar year 2005. There were no changes made in the Accounting Setup. The Account Categories are set as shown on page 181 of V9 handbook. My first Account is:
Assets. Account Number 05-1001. Type - Group Account. The sequence of number are 1002, 1003 etc., all within the ranges outlined.
However, there is a message at the end of my Asset Accounts as follows:
"Account no. is not in a defined range" What am I doing wrong?

Without being in front of a PC+ computer nor having the manual with me, I'm curious as to which funds you are accessing. Your account number seems to indicate fund 05. If I recall, the default CoA is for fund 01.

Make sense?

Double check your account range setup under File-> Preferences-> Accounting Setup-> Fund Accounting (tab) and make sure that your account types (Asset, Liability, etc) correspond with what you have set up there.
