Posting Month and Posting Date
I am confused about the difference between posting month and posting date. Is it possible to post a transaction on November 15 and post it in December? Here what my dilemna is. Some payments are made in one month but they really apply to the next month (mortgage for example). We sometimes pay the mortgage at the end of one month but it was due the next month. I don't like to have 2 mortgage payments showing up the same month. Should I just change the date to match the month?

Powerchurch is setup to work as most churches do, on a cash basis. If you write a check in November, it should be posted in November. You write two checks in November for the same loan, they should also post in November. You're paying out the money in the one month, even though the payment is due in December.FirstUUCongregation wrote:I am confused about the difference between posting month and posting date. Your checking account will have had that payment deducted, and not posting it properly will show more money in the account than what is really there.
