GST and PST in Quebec Canada

GST (Federal tax) and PST (Provincial Tax) are not correctly calculated in PCPlus.
In Quebec GST is calculated on the original amount and then added to the original amount. Finally the PST is calculated upon the total of that.
Ex. $100 amount taxed at 5% GST is $5.00, so PST is calculted on $100. plus the 5.00, so $105.00 times the 9.5% PST. $105. plus $9.98 PST for a total of $114.98.
As a work around the tax rate fields, for both GST and PST need to show 3 decimal points in order to get the required amount but are presently limited to 2 decimal places.
Is it possible to change the fields to accept 3 decimals?

TIA

This sounds like a change is needed in the program, you may want to add this request about the decimal places added to the wishlist by emailing it to wishlist@powerchurch.com.

My understanding is that Quebec does not participate in HST. The percentage split calculation in Accounts Payable will only work for those provinces that have harmonized under the HST.

Jeff,

Are you suggesting that we stop using PC and use another program? Personally I believe PC should fix the program to calculate the taxes properly.
