Hello and good afternoon.
In PCP, what's the best way to:
1. handle checks from any income source (contributions, pledges, rental income, etc.) that are returned for non-sufficient funds? and
2. handle checks drawn from our account for payments (bills, salaries, etc.) that are returned for non-sufficient funds?
Thank you!

The easiest way to do this with Contributions checks, is to find the Posted Contribution, then REVERSE the Contribution. This works for versions 11.1/11.5. For version 10.5 and earlier, you need to find the old contribution, then enter a NEW Contribution via the
Enter Contributions module using the same date, and Contribution fund used on the original contribution, but enter the amount using a
negative[/i] number, as in -100.00.
Then, in either case, post the Contributions to BOTH the Contributions module and Funds Accounting. This will create the proper reversing transactions for Contributions and Funds Accounting so the income and checking accounts are correct.
For rental income, I'm not sure how you are tracking this, but if you're using Accounts Receivable, you would do a reversal of the transaction there, then post. The system will then create the proper FA transactions as it does for Contributions.
If you need to do this manually, this thread will give you the basic procedure:

You would then add a transaction to cover any fee your bank may charge you for the NSF processing.
2. handle checks drawn from our account for payments (bills, salaries, etc.) that are returned for non-sufficient funds?
Thank you!
Here's much the same thing, you would reverse the original transaction in the Accounts Payable module, post that to AP and Funds Accounting, and also enter a separate transaction for the fees.
Does this help ??
