Is there any way I can save such data as vendors, payroll data, etc and still set up a new chart of accounts. I got too carried away when I set up the original chart and would like to drastically modify it to make it much simpler - as it is now it is too confusing for the data entry person to handle. I thought of simply uninstalling then reinstalling the whole program but I would like to save the above data so it would not have to be re-entered again.
Thanks
PJ

Maybe, but it's going to take a lot of work.
In v9, you can use the delete old data function in Fund Accounting to delete all your existing FA data. When you do this, it'll ask you if you want to start your accounting over. Yes, you do. That will clear out all your balances and activity. You'd then want to remove any accounts from your vendors, payroll items, and contribution funds. You can then restructure your chart of accounts to your heart's content. Once you're finished, you can go back into your vendors, et al. and set those back up with the new, correct, accounts.
