Posted Payroll in wrong month

Hi there -

How do I change payroll month that was posted in the wrong month. Payroll was for 7/29 and I posted it in June in the fund accounting? I need to correct it to post in July.

Posting is permanent, in the traditional accounting sense. Once something is posted it cannot be removed.

You can post a revering entry, and a correcting entry.

This will take a little time to do. The easiest way, I think, it to go into Payroll and void all of the payroll checks in that payroll run, and post the voided checks in Payroll and Fund Accounting. Make sure the voided checks are posted in June, the same as the original, if June is still open.

Then, rerun the payroll using Manual Checks instead of printed checks, and post them in Payroll and Fund Accounting in the correct month.
