Vendor Field Length / Check memo line

Post by Pat »

Is there anyway to increase the Vendor Name field length in the Vendor List? I have some vendor names that are longer than 30 characters.

I am also having trouble getting anything to print on the check memo line when I print checks from PC plus version 9. It won't print any of the descriptions or the reference ID from within Open Invoices. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Pat

Pat,

It is not possible to change the vendor name length in AP.

As far as the memo line, the account number in the Maintain Vendor records is what is printed in the memo line on the checks. If you have entered something there and it is still not printing it is because you were using a custom check layout in version 8 and we converted it to version 9 and you do not have that field on your check layout.

I appreciate your quick response, and I suspected there wasn't anything that could be done about the length of the vendor name.

I am using a custom check layout, but I did not upgrade from version 8. My church just started using Power Church, and we started with version 9. Something I just discovered while in the custom check layout, whenever I tried to do a print preview, I would get an error message stating that the field 'MemoLine' could not be found. When I clicked on OK, it would shut down the program. I went back in, and deleted the MemoLine field and replaced it with one of the DescriptionLines that's in the voucher section of the layout, and then tried a print preview, and it worked. So I think I solved the problem.

Thanks for your help!
