How to create a new Fund

Post by emellesee »

Hi,

We want to set up a new fund to track donations and expenses for a short-term mission trip. I know how to add accounts, but how to I set up a fund? I can't find the instructions for this.

Under HELP > Contents, look under the Accounting area for Modifying Your Accounting Funds. It has step-by-step directions on how to add and modify these funds.

Hope this helps.

If you are in v.9, click Accounting > Fund Accounting > Maintain List of Accounting Funds. It will walk you through setting up another fund.
S.M., Bookkeeper, started using PowerChurch v 8.5 01/01/03. Upgraded to 9.0 1/1/05.

Alternately, if you are in v.9 and you just want to handle this money separately in your Missions accounting, but keep track of the money separately, do it as Temporarily Donor Restricted money. Click Accounting > Fund Accounting > Maintain List of Donor Restrictions. It will walk you through setting up accounts to keep the money and release it in your missions accounting.
