change in fund balance when upgrading from v8.0 -> v9

Hi,
We have found a large (>$300,000) discrepency in our equity account fund balances that showed up when we upgraded. The asset and liability numbers came across just fine.
We had put in all of the necessary "year-end" changes to zero out accounts before the upgrade, but not done the final roll-over to the new year. Could this be an issue? Would it go away if we closed the year before converting the data? Thanks for your comments.

No, we hadn't. Should I wipe the data and try again?

Don't reconvert your data. Are there additional accounts listed in version 9 that were not listed in version 8.5?

It appears that there are several subaccounts in our 3998 - Fund Balance Avail account that had non-zero balances carried over from the previous year(s). The PC+ 8.0 balance sheet shows what I believe is the total of the main account + the subaccounts, while the PC+9.0 balance sheet (by fund) is showing only the subaccounts.
I believe that we will need to reconvert the data anyway, since we switched back to PC+ 8.0 last night. Checks needed to be written, and the bookeeper wasn't feeling good about the transition. We haven't closed 2004 yet, and no data had been entered since we did the upgrade.

If you did not have the fund balance account in all your funds, you will need to add the account into each fund. Prior to version 9 if the fund balance account didn't exist for a fund the program would automatically add it. You might want to download the latest maintenance release before converting again. I believe the conversion program was changed to automatically add the fund balance account to the fund if it is missing for that fund.
To convet again, delete the ma.dbf file from the data folder of your version installation. The next time you run the program after doing this you will be prompted with the first time prompts again.

Adding the amounts from the non-subaccount fund balance accounts to the version 9 fund balance account total produces the version 8 fund balance account total! The only apparent remaining issue is what happened to the "Excess Income/Expenses" account that was reflected on the old ( v8 ) balance sheet, but not on the new one. Any ideas?
