W2s

I took over bookkeeping this year and have had zero help with taxes. I was told it would be pretty straightforward but all the reports that are printed from last year don't match what is on the 2011 W2's. I am having the most problems with our senior pastor.

Can anyone let me know what should be included in box one? Logically I would put the Pastors Salary and the Seca Allowance but doesn't look like thats what the previous book keeper did.

Also, should the medical savings withholdings be put on the W2? and if so where? We are putting housing withholdings in box 14.

Any help with be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks,
Erica

Nevermind about the Medical Withholding. I found the answer for that. Just need to know what should be included or not included in Box1 (wages, tipes, other compensation).
Thanks,
Erica

The pastor's wage goes in box 1, but not their housing allowance.

What about the SECA allowance that we give the pastors?

SECA is considered income, and as such, is taxable under Fed, State and local income taxes.

I thank you for the laugh I just had from reading your post. I'm sure a lot of churches would like your answer for how to fix a problem pastor! Chuckle.
