pledge payment by a third party
Is there a way to apply a payment from a third party to an existing constituent's pledge? It doesn't seem so. Will I just need to adjust the constituent's pledge in order for it not to appear as under paid?

You can add the payment amount in the pledge Start Balance field on the Maintain Pledges screen. That will be calculated in with the pledge actual paid amounts.

Thank you. That field name, pledge Start Balance, is confusing!

Well ... its often used in December when people are trying to donate before the end of year, and pledged funds come in, but are earmarked for the next year, but must be (under Federal Law) recorded in the current year. Because pledges are usually from Jan 1 to Dec 31 of a certain year, donations prior to that are not linked by the system, so this field allows that donation to be credited to the pledge.
