e-mailing quarterly statements

Post by therevmom »

I'm trying to e-mail the quarterly statements of contribution as a means of checking the data. This system is new to this church and we want to be sure it's all being recorded correctly while at the same time helping people adjust to an electronic means of keeping records at the church. ("We've never done it this way before.") :D

Here's the problem. I got through the process but when I clicked on finish to send the e-mails, I got the following error:

"A problem occurred in connecting to the STMP server prior to sending the e-mails. The requested name is valid and was found in the database, but it does not have the correct associated data being resolved for."

:?:
What? That's really confusing. What is it trying to tell me?

Any help you can give is greatly appreciated.

I posted this question last week. Should I call tech support instead?

Thanks

If you have version 10, make sure that you have the latest Maintenance Release installed. We have changed some functionality in the e-mail system in the last six months or so.

Mainly with e-mail issues like this, we will suggest double-checking your settings: Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP), Authentication?, User Name, Password, etc. If you have Outlook or Outlook Express, take a look at the account settings there and make sure everything matches in PowerChurch Plus.
