I am a soon new user. Now practicing on the demo version.

Our church has 4 major category of fund namely
1. general
2. mission
3. care
4. development
5. and lots of pass thru

For General Fund,
we usually catgorize the offerings into loose plate offering and lots of anonymous offerings (for this 2 types, I will assign 2 envelope numbers , one loose plate offering and one for anonymous offering))

Beside the above 2 types for general fund, we have envelopes with names (for this I will assign envelope number for each names)

But we still have a category which is thanksgiving offerings (our church includes this type of offering in the general fund but specify that these offerings are in the thanksgiving category).
My question is how to I classify this type of offerings in the list of fund, so that the contribution report will show them as separate entity but include in general fund.
There are two different things here: Contribution Funds and Funds Accounting Funds. Funds Accounting funds are those funds you use for, well, accounting. These are the funds where you have your Chart of Accounts and track your income and expenses.

Contribution Funds are only used in Contributions, they really have no relation to the Funds Accounting funds other than they flow income to Funds Accounting. You can have a many to one relationship with the Contribution Funds to a FA account.

Therefore you can have your Loose Offerings, Thanksgiving, Anonymous, and regular giving all debit the one checking account, and all credit the one Offering/Tithes account in Funds Accounting.
