projected pledge payments report

Post by UUTerry »

Can anyone explain the Projected Pledge Payments report to me?

Is it actual to date plus amounts pledged? Or is there some real forecasting which estimates what future contributions will be?

Thanks,

Terry

The report is based on the pledges that were made. It separates out how the pledges were supposed to be fulfilled, X amount weekly, X amount monthly, etc.

It does not do any forecasting, which would be impossible as the system cannot estimate what the pledge fulfillment may be, or what may come in from loose plate offerings, visitor pew envelopes, etc.

So the report is based solely on pledges. It doesn't take into account contributions which have already been made (or not made).

To use the report as a forecasting tool, I'd have to look at actual pledge contributions up to a certain date and then the projected pledge payments from that date to the end of the period I'm interested in.

Is that correct?

You could use the Contribution Fund Pledged/Unpledged Totals using year to date to get actuals, then use the Projected Pledge Payment report from the date forward to see what is forecasted.

You can also use the Pledged to Actual Comparison report to see what the fulfillment rate is 'year to date', that could aid you in your forecasting. You really don't need to use anything but the last page showing totals to get the info you need, so there's no need to print it out.
