Applying the same pledge to numerous envelope numbers!

Post by Peopleschurch »

Hello!

We are relatively new to the Powerchurch world...

We have a Stewardship Campaign that we are using Powerchurch to keep track of.

We have many couples in our church that have separate giving profiles (ie Mr. Doe and Mrs. Doe give from separate envelopes).

However, most of those couples have given one pledge together (ie Mr & Mrs Doe have one pledge for $500).

How can we apply the same pledge to both the env. numbers?

Thanks! :)

If these couples are going to maintain using separate envelopes, you'll have to split the pledge amount between both of them. Otherwise, you could wind up with double pledges that will really confuse things.

My $.07 worth,

Thanks for the reply!

So what do you do if one gives more than the other (ie Mr. Doe give $400 and Mrs. Doe gives $100)?

Do you just have to watch it and go in and change the pledge details for the other person?

Thanks! :)

All we do is enter the money, and send them the quarterly reports showing the status of their pledges. Its between them and the Lord as how they will or won't meet their pledge.

FWIW ... why do you have separate envelopes for a married couple ?? We've had marriages within the church, and what we usually do is for the next fiscal year (and pledge period) we set them up with a single envelope.

Definitely cuts down on the cost of envelopes
