Hello Fellow Users,
We receive cash contributions for some of our ministries (Bible Expo, Breakfast, Media, Youth Trips, use of church, etc.), how should these contributions be handled. We are currently on version 10.4, but will be upgrading to 11.5 at the top of the year. Currently our Finance Team set them up in the Membership and gave them an envelope number as well as a contribution fund number.
Thanks so much for your help.

Re: Cash Contributions
If this is strictly 'loose plate' types of contribution, then just use the standard "Loose Cash" contribution envelope you would use for the normal Sunday collection. Just earmark the money to the Contribution Fund that is used to collect for those functions. You do NOT need to setup separate envelope numbers for all those areas, as the Contribution Fund would take care of totaling up the contributions.
For example:
You have a standard loose plate envelope number of 999.
Your Contribution Funds for Youth Trips is 30, Breakfasts is 31, and so on.
You get cash collected during a Breakfast; you would enter it under envelope 999, with the Fund of 31. Same for any donations toward a Youth Trip: envelope of 999, fund of 30.
Hope this helps.

Re: Cash Contributions
Thank you. If checks were given for these funds, would you enternthat person's envelope # and the appropriate fund?
Thank you again. Merry Christmas

Re: Cash Contributions
Sure would .. I'm assuming that since you say that some of the funds are collected during a breakfast, that the breakfast itself is free and anything collected goes toward support of the ministries of the church, so all the donations are deductible.angel1 wrote:Thank you.
