Printing contribution receipts

Post by janehelp »

I know if a couple has the same envelope, the receipt is printed with both names. ex: (John Smith & Valerie Clark). I am trying to print a receipt, but it's printing as (Valerie Clark & Family). How do I get it to print both names and not "& Family"?

Normally, the names printed on the Contributions statement will show Mary & John Smith, if they both share the same envelope, and are listed as 1 & 2 in the Directory Sequence in their personal profiles. However, as it appears in this case, you have a person sharing an envelope with another family member where the Directory Sequence is 3 or greater, the & Family will be added to the name line in the address.

If you're keeping track of a child's contributions under the parent envelope and have the envelope number also assigned to the child's profile, you will definitely see this.

Printing contribution receipts

Post by yaregal »

Hi

I am new to power church.

Can someone tell me where is the function to print a simple receipt for individual contributions?

When a member gives me a check for membership fee, they want to get a receipt for that transaction. I don't see any of the reports doing that.

Please help

Go to Contributions > Reports - Contributions.

Choose All Contribution Statements to run everyone's or Individual Contribution Statement to run a single statement.

Zorak:

Thank you for the response. The contribution statement gives me the list of contributions that individuals have made during a period of time.

I am looking for a receipt that I can give to the church members when they come to the office and give me a check for membership fee. For example, when an individual come to our office to pay $50 for April, 2014 general membership, I would like to enter the contribution and then issue him a receipt for $50.

The contribution statement does not do that and I have to add the contribution and then post it to get a statement.

I just want to print a sequentially numbered receipt that can be issued to a member at the time of transaction. We currently issue a manually written receipt.

Thanks

Since Powerchurch was created as a church management system, it doesn't process such contributions in the way you want it to.

Since you're processing a membership, this sounds like something you'd want to do through the Accounts Receivable module. When you create an invoice in Accounts Payable, the system will create an invoice number for you. When you process the payment, you can then print off the paid invoice.
