Contribution Fund Accounting Change

Hello,

I would like to change the fund accounting income account number on a contribution fund.

Can anyone tell me if once I make that change will it go back and change all of the contributions I have entered in the past or if it will only change from that moment forward?

For example, all general fund contributions (Fund 1) before this date have been posted in 1o-1011-000. If I change Fund 1 to 01-5005-000, will Power Church take all of my previous contributions out of 10-1011-000 and move them to 01-5005-000?

You can change the account number on the contribution fund at any time. It will not affect any previously posted transactions. Those that you post in the future will use the new account number.

Zorak....it does change all of the past posted contributions.

I wish it did only change from the date forward but it doesn't. I changed on my contribution funds and it changed all of my past records.

If you know a way to work around that, please let me know.

If you change the name of the fund or the fund number, it does apply to all previous contributions.

In your original post, you said "I would like to change the fund accounting income account number on a contribution fund." The correct answer was given to that particular question. Changing the income account number on the fund will not update any of the previous accounting transactions.

Zorak, this is a clip of an account activity report. My original fund accounting number was 02-1011. When I changed it to 10-1011, it moved all of my previous contributions to the new fund accounting number.

I didn't change the contribution fund number (1). I only changed the fund accounting number and it moved all of my past transactions to the new fund accounting number.

You changed the accounting fund number on the accounting fund in Fund Accounting, not the income account number on the contribution fund in Contributions.

If you don't want the accounting fund number to change on your previous transactions, you will need to change it back.
