Import PayPal Contributions

Post by davidtaylorjr »

Is there a way to import contributions from PayPal without having to enter them 1 by 1? I don't know a way to do this since the import function REQUIRES (for whatever reason) an envelope number. Why it can't match them with name or email is beyond me. Thoughts?

Since PowerChurch requires an envelope number, it wouldn't be possible to import contributions without envelope numbers.

I would like to bump this thread as a possible wishlist item for discussion. Our church is about to start using PayPal and an import function would be very useful. Would it be possible for PowerChurch to import data and then go through a manual selection screen to match items from the import file to PowerChurch members. Just curious if others would find that helpful.

The Import Contributions process does allow you to manually match people to the contributions, but it does require something unique for each contributor in the envelope number field when importing. If PayPal can create the export file and give you some form of ID number for each contributor, you should be able to import them in.
