Hello,
I entered two contributions of the same amount for one member, and it should only be one amount. If I reverse one of the contributions (contribution was posted), do I need to go into contributions and enter it as a negative contribution?
Thanks,
Angel

Re: Reversing a posted contribution
The best way to reverse anything in Powerchurch is to start from the module that created the original transaction for Funds Accounting. So, start in Contributions to reverse this;angel1 wrote:Hello,

If you have version 11.x, you can go into the Contributions Menu, select View Posted Contributions and then lookup the member in question. Find the duplicate entry, and click on the Reverse button. The system will create the proper entries. Then POST the Contributions. This will correct the member's contributions record, and then create the proper transactions for posting to Funds Accounting. This also gives you a full audit trail.
If you have version 10.5 - you'll have to enter a NEGATIVE contribution entry for the same date, fund and amount. Again, you would then POST this in Contributions, and the system will create the proper transactions for Funds Accounting.
Hope this helps.

Thanks so much, we are now on 11.5. I guess I was remembering how I did it in 10 and getting the two mixed up.
