Hello,
I am going crazy with this one. Once all contributions from the envelopes are entered, we run the bank deposit slip report and the unposted contribution report. These should all match, but for the past two Sunday's we have been off from the actual money count and the envelopes. Each envelope was verified against the report. Last Sunday we were off by 30 cents and this Sunday by $5.00. Where could the problem be?
We verified everything twice (counted the cash twice, checked the envelopes twice. It appears to be in the cash, not the checks). Any suggestions would be helpful, don't want to spend another Sunday looking for what does not seem to be there.

Re: Contributions Don't Match
This sounds like a data entry or someone is counting wrong. The program will only report what has been entered.angel1 wrote:Hello,

That's what we thought as well, however the unposted contribution report matches the envelopes. The unposted contribution report has $5.00 less than the actual monies. We compared the envelopes against the unposted contribution report and then I checked the entry before posting.

Which report ?? The unposted contributions report will list each contribution sorted by data entry, envelope, etc. You said you verified against each envelope and that tallied. The only option is that there was a loose plate contribution that was not entered.angel1 wrote:That's what we thought as well, however the unposted contribution report matches the envelopes. Again, the computer has the number correct, someone did not enter the extra $5.00 in the system.
