We had a Valentine Banquet dinner where some people donated additional monies over and above the cost of the meal. In entering the checks into contributions, I know that the cost of the meal is not tax deductible. How do you enter the information where it needs to be split?
The money is going to the Youth ministry.

Re: taxable contributions
You have to enter it in two separate Contributions Funds. In V11, you can setup a Contribution Fund as non-deductable, you should enter the donation for the cost of the meal here, and then anything over will go into a deductable Contribution Fund you have setup for the Youth Ministry.trose wrote:We had a Valentine Banquet dinner where some people donated additional monies over and above the cost of the meal. So: If someone gives $25 at the dinner, and the meal costs $10. Youth Contribution Fund is #200, and non-Deductable Youth Fund Reimbursement is #1000
You would enter $10 in Fund 1000, and $15 in Fund 200.
The Contributor would see the $15 as a donation on their statement under Fund 200, but Fund 1000 will not appear on the statement at all.
