Changes Contribution Funds-Effects

Hello Everyone,

I need your help before I mess something up. We are using all modules of PC+ V9. All is well. I want to change some of the contribution funds numbers. ( I do not want to make any changes to my accounting chart of accounts or the debits & credits that I have assigned (linked) to the contribution funds).

It is important that I understand what will happen if I change some of the contribution fund numbers, for example contribution number 300 to 3000 (Guest Preacher Income). We already have posted using the current contribution fund numbers.

Here is what is going on in my church's use of PC+ v.9. I have set up some contributions funds that I use as standard journal entries, to avoid my non-accountant helpers from making bad journary entries, causing me headaches. We assign these to "John Q. Public". (Most of the Trustees call him John Q"). I want to set up these contribution fund outside of my normal range of numbers.

So my real question is what will happen if I change contribution fund numbers. Is the systems' logic regarding contribution fund numbers similar to the way it handles changes to the accounting fund numbers (Chart of Accounts)?

If you change the number under Maintain List of Contribution Funds (you'll be prompted to confirm it when you save), it will go through an change all instances of that fund number to the new one.

You should make a backup first, just in case...
