Designating counters vs. Inputers

Post by SBCTrustee »

Hello Everyone,

We have two or three inputers on Sundays. There might be four counters working, also. When the Inputers are entering contributions for the counters, we have the inputers to sign in to PC+ v9. as the counter, so we can keep straight as to balancing PC+ with what the counter reports. Once this is balanced then the report is wrapped with the envelopes.

It would be nice if there was some way to track the inputer & the counter in PC+.

Also it would be nice if one could log off of PC+ & the system brings one back to the orginal password entry screen. In other words it would be nice if we could either sign off or exit the program.

Good Morning Tom,
If you run the Unposted Contributions Report it will print out the person who logged onto PowerChurch to enter the Contributions. You can also go to the Contributions Audit Log located at the end of the Contributions Module drop down list.

Thank Kristi,

Let me explain what I am trying to solve. We have trustees who only open & balance money with the envelopes that they open. I call them counters, #1,#2, etc.

Another person (auditor) checks the envelope total & re-counts the money that the individual counter has. Once the evelopes are reconciled with the cash & checks the auditor fills out a report that the counters initials. The auditor givers the empy envelopes to the inputers, #1, #2, etc.

The inputer signs in to PC+ v9 as counter #1 for example. Once all of the envelopes for Counter 1 are entered, a custom report is printed. The report shows the input by operator & contribution, with summary totals for each fund for counter # 1. These totals are matched to the auditor's report.

I want a way to document within PC+ who the inputer is & who is the counter.

I currently have both the inputer & the counter sign the custom report once everything is balanced.

Interesting Idea .. but I'm not sure if that is a feature that everyone will need or use. I would assume it would take a database change, and always, you have to balance the program and database changes with 'bang for the buck'.

What you can do, if you have a standard set of people who pair up to do data input and counter, is setup the userid as something like Team1. But if this is always the case anyway, and the counter is always matched with the data entry, then the data entry name should suffice.
