Automatic Transfers at Posting Time

I am curious to know if anyone is using the Automatic Transfer feature in the Contribution Module. If so, how is this used and setup? I am thinking that it may allow us to track our monthly missions. We give 12.5% of our weekly offerings to various missions. Currently, I put in each week's offering into an Excel spreadsheet, which calculates and totals the Mission amounts for each month, I then write a check in the amount specified on the spreadsheet. I was hoping I could possibly use the Auotmatic Transfer to transfer the desginated % to a 'Restricted' mission account. I could then on a monthly basis run a report to see how much is in each restricted mission account and write the check, releasing the restricted amount and setting the restricted amount back to zero for the next month. This way I eliminate the Excel spreadsheet (dual entry) and keep everything in PC. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions on handling this, whether with the Automatic Transfer or some other way.

We are currently using PC 9.0 on the latest MR.
