Re: enveolope numbers
FWIW .. you can only import Family Mailing profiles, not personal profiles into Powerchurch. That means that in order to create envelope numbers you must also add at least ONE personal profile to each family mailing profile.wandkett wrote:i just got powerchurch i need to know if i have to have envlope #'s to input contribution. i imported my membership list from excell, so what can i do. also please give instruction on inputing the data without env #'s. i have 11 months of 200+ (per sunday) of envelopes to enter.

In other words, you probably have no other data on individual family members at all (IE: birthdays, date joined, date married, etc).
As far as contributions, I would not enter any contributions into Powerchurch until the beginning of the year, which I am assuming is your fiscal year. What you can do is setup the system to be able to start inputting contribtuions as of January 1st.
Use your old system until then, as you'll have to use it to create the end of year statements for your congregation to use when filing their tax return.
If you have some additional questions, please ask away.

Unfortunately, there is no easy way to get contributions into Powerchurch from another program. You'll have to do it by hand. My suggestion is to just enter the total to date for each member. If they don't already have an envelope number assigned, you will need to assign one. Once all this is entered, you can then continue with the weekly contributions for the rest of the year.wandkett wrote:Thanks. but my old software froze (Membership+) on me so now i'm at wits end trying to get the 06 year in some type of program so i can generate statements.
I'd include a note to the congregation when you create your end-of-year statements letting them know why the weekly details can only be shown for the last two months of the year.
