unposted contributions for last quarter of 2006
In checking the unposted contributions for the last quarter of 2006, I discovered that date was entered 12/31/2007 instead of 2006 and the payment type was entered as check instead of cash. We always use cash. We are talking about 600 + entries. It is taking too much time to change date on each entry. We need to get contribution statements printed and out before Jan. 31st. There must be an easier way. In reviewing your postings, I read one dated 1/10/07. The answer stated that contribution statements will default to prior year. Does this mean if I post these contributions, the entry date of 12/31/2007 will not matter, since it will default to 2006? I am using PC+ version 9. If this is not the answer, I need help. There must be a way to change posting date so that these contributions will post to 2006 and show on contribution statement for 2006. Please advise!

During the posting process you will be given an opportunity to determine which Fund Accounting month you can post to. However, this does not change the date of entry for the contribution, and they will not show up on a contributions statement for Jan thru Dec 2006.elg wrote:In checking the unposted contributions for the last quarter of 2006, I discovered that date was entered 12/31/2007 instead of 2006 and the payment type was entered as check instead of cash. The only other way to change the date (other than manually) would be using the Database Manager. That should only be done in consutlation with the PC+ staff, and by a person knowledgeable about database update statements.
Question: you always enter CASH in contributions, even if you receive a check ?? Why ??
