Contribution Range Report

Post by Alaraujo »

Using the Contribution Range Report, I selected one month at a time for this year, using the default values in 'Env #' and 'Fund's, choosing visitors in the Personal Status window.
Although the number of contributors within the given ranges varied, as well as the amount of money given for each month, I noticed that the total number of contributors were with 1 or 2 for each of the months.

I get the same results if I choose Members only. Their total of contributors are close to the same for each month during the year.

Because our attendance fluctuates from month to month, this report is either not accurate or I am reading it wrong.

I am using Ver 9.

Thanks for your help........... Al

Looking the report over, I noticed that the contribution amount ranges from $0 to $999,999,999. You didn't mention if you changed these at all; if not, wouldn't the report include ALL members of the selected status that have envelope numbers? Unless you have people contributing $1,000,000,000 or more during the selected period, of course. :D
I tried running the report for members for three different months, and got the same # of contributors each time. We must not have had any changes in envelopes for members during that period.

Lee, thanks for your reply. I did change the ranges but, no, no-one contributed above the $1,000,000,000 range. Not yet anyway. :-)

You are right, the total number of members listed would include all members, regardless if they gave or not, but I know for a fact that we have added members during the year.

I'm wondering if the report is looking at the number of members on the date that the report is being generated, and is not looking at the number of members for that month selected.

We are looking at the current number of members as of the time the report is run. There currently isn't a way for us to see when you added a person, or changed them from Prospect to Visitor.

Thanks Zorak for the clarification on how this report is generated. It makes sense.

If you insert a range of $0.00 to $0.99, assuming each person that gives would probably give at least $1.00 within a month's time, then maybe you could get a count of how many didn't give, and by subtracting that number from the total contributors, would get a more accurate count of how many really gave? We have a few kids that have contribution numbers that give a quarter or 50 cents a week, but over several weeks even they would add to at least a $1.00.
