Contribution Pledge Fund Summary
We have some old pledge information that is showing up on current year activity, which makes the current year totals incorrect. We have thought about moving the previous year information (2003) to a dummy fund to try to get it off this years totals, but it still would show. Any other thoughts as so how to get rid of this info that we are unable to account for?

Can you give more specific information. Which reports are you looking at? Which totals are you refering to? And what specifically do you mean by "old pledge information"? Are you talking about pledges (ie $10 a week to Fund 100) or amounts that were given to a pledged fund (ie Enveleope 101 gave $10 to Fund 100 on 11/1/2007)
Usually what we will find, is there was a data entry error years ago where someone entered a contribution by mistake to the wrong year. It is only when the actual date catches up to the error that they find the problem.

The information is found when we go to Contributions; Maintain Pledges; Pledge Detail. It shows in the summary on the right in the Date/Amt. columns information from 2003 & 2004 that have nothing to do with our current pledge for our building campaign. On the contribution statements the information shows in the pledge summary even though the dates are not what we're asking for. This causes our current year/pledge to be off by the amount found in the pledge detail.
If this fund was possibly used in 2003/04, could that still show up even though the dates don't coincide with our current campaign? How can I clear up this information?

What I think you are saying is that you have a 2007 pledge where contributions from 2003 & 2004 have been applied to it.
The best way to clear this up is to go to View Posted Contributions screen, find the 2003 & 2004 contributions and either change the pledge that they are applied to, or not apply a pledge at all.
One possible way this could have happened is if you had a prior pledge to this fund and instead of adding a new pledge someone just changed the dates of the old pledge. Contributions applied to the pledge under the old dates would still be applied to the pledge with the new dates.
For example, say you had a pledge in 2006 to a fund. During 2006 contributions are being applied to the 2006 pledge. When it is time to setup the 2007 pledge, instead of adding a new pledge (or used the year end pledge processing option), someone just changed the dates from 2006 to 2007. Those 2006 contributions are still applied to that pledge, because a new pledge wasn't created, all that happend was the dates were changed on the original pledge.
We made a change to the program quite a while ago to try to address this issue. Now when you change the pledge dates and contributions that have been applied to the pledge are outside of the new dates, you get this message:
I am not sure if this is the case in your situation, but is one possible way the data could get into this state.

When you select yes, those contributions are unapplied to the pledge.WARNING: This pledge has contributions applied to it that are outside of the date range.
Would you like to unapply these contributions from this pledge?
