Errors showing in reports

Post by Ingathering »

As a newbie, I posted an amount into the wrong fund. I went into the donors page and corrected the error, however, it didn't immediately show up and so I did it several more times. Now when printing a report, those deletions show up in the individuals giving list. How can I remove those?

I too am having problems with Contributions not showing up in some reports.
I have posted all of the contributions for January, ran the Funds report - Great!
Then went to run the Income & expense report and only the contributions from January 15th and on, show up in it.
I have checked the 'posted' there are none to post. I've 're-indexed' as suggested in other comments and still won't show up.
Please help! I really don't want to go back and redo them all.

This is not a Contributions error. IF you posted everything from Contributions to Funds Accounting when deposited, they should show up. I would run an account activity report on checking, and on the income accounts to see that those transactions were processed.

I checked the Account activity and it does not show up in there.
I did do a reverse entry on the 13th and it shows up but not the actual deposit. - SO WEIRD.
Other then reversing both deposits and re entering them, is there anything else that I can do?
THank you so much for your help!

FWIW ... I suspect that someone did not post to Funds Accounting from Contributions, but only posted to Contributions.

What I would do is this:
1. Run a Contribution Funds Report for the two weeks (I'm assuming) that are missing, this will give you the amounts, and the Contribution Funds involved.

2. VOID any transaction that you did, such as the 'reverse' entry, bring the system back to the way it was before you did anything like that.

3. MANUALLY create the Deposit Transactions in Funds Accounting to cover the deposits.

Make sure that the "Update Fund Accounting" is set as the default for posting contributions, by heading to FILE -> PREFERENCES -> Contributions Setup and insure that is setup as default there.

I am having the same problem. All contributions are in the contributions activity report, I can see who contributed however on the balance sheet, income and expense report no deposits are showing up. Yes Update Fund Accounting is set as the default and I have posted contributions and fund accounting. Fund activity report is showing nothing deposited from January 1 to now. I ran a Contribution Funds report and the deposits are showing up. Any ideas?

FWIW ... the Contributions Funds report will not show what is in Funds Accounting, two separate modules, two separate databases.
Check the Posted Transactions in Fund Accounting and make sure that the Contributions transactions were sent over.

They do not show as posted transactions in Fund Accounting. I did post Contributions and then I Posted in Fund accounting. When I choose Post in Fund Accounting it's telling me there is nothing to Post.
Now what?

Now what do I need to do to get these to post in Fund accounting? I did use the account set up when I started, something must have gone wrong. All help is appreciated.

1. If you posted Contributions to Funds Accounting, and then you posted Funds Accounting, the unposted transactions queue is going to show as empty.

2. What could have happened is that the transaction was posted using the wrong year, that has happened to people in the past.

3. You should run the 'Reprint Posting Report' to see exactly what was posted the last time you posted Funds Accounting . I always recommend when people post Funds Accounting to always print the Posting Report, either to paper, or to a PDF so you have a copy of what was done.

If after you run that report, you still have not found what or where the transaction was posted, please let us know.

I ran the report and all contributions are accounted for and posted in 2025. Are there reports I can run and emailed to someone that would be helpful to get this figured out?

If in the Posting Report, you see that the contributions were properly posted to Funds Accounting, and that the proper accounts were debited (bank) and credited (Income).

The Income and Expense Report should then properly show the income, and the Balance Sheet should properly show the bank account as having had the contributions deposited.

I would make sure that when you do the bank reconciliation for February, that all the deposits are seen.
