Hello everyone!
I'm am so new at this Powerchurch thing, I'm almost scared to ask a question for some it may seem so simple. But to me, who doesn't have any kind of accounting background this program terrifies me! If this has been answered before, I apologize.
I entered contributions and posted only to realize that I entered one persons offering into the wrong account. I need to take that money and put it into the correct account. What steps do I take to do this? Since I've already posted, to I go under Fund accounting and "enter Transaction" to make the change?
Thanks in advance for the help. I'm sure once I post this time and it works, you'll be hearing from me again!

When you say the wrong account I am assuming you mean you selected the wrong Contribution Fund. If this is the case simply go back into Contributions and select the date that the original contribution was made then select the contributor and select the Fund that was wrongly credited and enter that amount with a minus sign in front of it, in other words a negative entry. Then while still under the same contributor enter the correct fund and the amount contributed and this will correct the entry. Your total contribution will be zero. Then post it.

Kathy,
The process is almost the same as the previous post. Go into contributions and enter the date of the wrong entry. Select the contributor that you credited in error and enter the original contribution fund and enter a negative entry in the amount of the original entry. Save that entry then select the correct contributor - remaining on the same contribution date - and then enter the correct contribution and save it. Since the amounts offset you will have a zero total for the contribution. Then post the contribution. This will correct the original error and will not effect Fund Accounting.
