Can't get Account Tab to work when setting up Contrib. Funds
I am in the midst of setting up PowerChurch. I am at "Maintain List of Contribution Funds" to add in our list. The General tab worked ok, but the next tab, the Accounting tab won't work. Have I missed a step? What do I need to do to enter in this information?

Do you have Accounting setup in the program ?? Before this tab can be used, you have to have your Chart of Accounts setup in Funds Accounting. Then you can set the Banking and Income account from that lookup.PattiD wrote:I am in the midst of setting up PowerChurch. I am at "Maintain List of Contribution Funds" to add in our list. This is the only area where Contributions directly reads Accounting data. If you're not going to be using Powerchurch Accounting, then you don't need to do anything here.
Alternatively, if you're going to use Accounting, but someone else is going to be doing that, you can leave this tab blank (enter zeros in the account number), then come back when Funds Accounting is setup and look up the proper accounts.

Well, in the manual, Contributions comes before Accounting, so I had started working through the checklist on p. 140. The 3rd items said to run Accounting Setup Ass. So, I started going through that and I got to the screen that says, "Below is a list of contribution funds that you have defined in PC+, so then I thought I must have to go back to the Contrib. module and name and give fund #s to the Contribution Funds. I did that, but when I went back to Accouting Setup, only one of those, the very first one, Gen. Fund contributions, show up. The ones I entered do show up if you go to the Contrib. module and run the report that lists all the Contrib. Funds. That's where I'm stuck.

Patti ... don't worry about what is or is not setup in Contributions or Accounting. They really aren't dependent on one another in this case.PattiD wrote:Well, in the manual, Contributions comes before Accounting, so I had started working through the checklist on p. 140. Do the accounting setup first .. get your chart of accounts setup, then you can do the contributions afterwards.
Remember there IS NO correlation between Contributions Funds and Accounting Funds .. two different animals.
You can have 2000 contribution funds, all pointing to income in the General Fund in accounting.
