My question is concerning pledges. I have entered pledge information for applicable contributors - it is a three year period for a building fundraising project. Now, some of these contributors have given money that is over and above their pledge. Can the pledge be turned off/on? or how could this situation be handled?

The only way you could turn off the pledge would be to change the dates to make it inactive.

Alternativly, once a Contribution is posted you can go to Contributions-->view Posted Contributions, find that person, then find that Contributions and click change. There it will give you the option of unapplying the Contribution from the pledge.
