Name on Tax Receipt

Post by dyimrey »

I am having some issues with the name on the Tax receipts. There are some deaths last year and we want their names not appearing on the tax receipts. These are couples and we already modified the mailing names but the names of the dead still appears. Please help!

The statements take the names from the Personal Profiles. What you should do is this:

1. If the deceased has a spouse, then remove the envelope number from the deceased by entering a zero for their envelope number.

2. If the deceased was the only profile on the envelope, change the personal profile first name to "The estate of (name)".

I don't know what the tax requirements are in Canada, I'm assuming you're up there since you're talking about tax receipts, but for the US I believe we need to show both names (deceased & survivor) if the couple were filing as married.
