How do I post a contribution that has unrestricted giving and a restricted gift in the same check, i.e. $130 with $100 for unrestricted and $30 for a restricted purpose? Thanks.

You should have a separate contribution fund setup for such restricted giving that points to the Restricted Income account in Funds Accounting.

You would then enter the data using the same check number (if you keep the numbers in the system) with the first entry to normal Tithes & Offerings (I assume) for $100, then another entry under the envelope number and using the same check number to the Restricted Contribution Fund for $30.

You do stay on the same Contributions Entry screen, which is what I'm assuming you're using. Did I miss something, or are you using a check reader, and the check reader entry screen ??
