Envelopes assigned to unknown contributors

Hi, Could you help me with this. I'm entering contributions but when I enter the name it shows that envelop number is not pick up. When I locate or find by envelop number it shows that it is an unknown contributors. But when I check the membership/personal profile it was there.
What should I do?
Please help.

Please help.
Try doing a REINDEX of the database, found under the UTILITIES menu. Let us know what you see after the reindex.

A Reindex often solves weird things like this.
