Email Statements

Post by dadcowell »

I have two related questions:
1. Say a person has both a personal email address and a family email address. Further, say that I elect to prepare statements and send emails to all contributers. If I uncheck "Send EMAIL contribution statement" on the personal profiles page, will the family still get an emailed statement?
2.When I elect to send email statements, will I see a screen that allows me to eliminate the email transmission to selected recipients?

If you have an email address setup on the Mailing List Profile, and the checkbox there is checked for emailing contributions statement, they will get the statement sent to that email.

You don't have the option to select emails at that point, you should be sure that the families you want to email to have the 'email contributions checked on either the Family Mailing Profile or the Personal Profile. People you don't want to send to, should be unchecked.

If you have a profile where the checkbox is checked, but no email address entered, obviously nothing will happen for those families.

However, you will have the option to only email statements (to those you have selected) print only those statements not emails, or print all statements.

This is covered on page 167 in the V12 Powerchurch Manual.

Thanks so much for your prompt and detailed response. Since I only want to send statements to some givers, I will uncheck all personal profiles and all family profiles and then check only those I want to email.

Is there a way to uncheck all families/persons at once?

Not easily ... it may be simpler just to go through the list and make sure that the boxes are unchecked.

Thanks again.
