Reporting and Entering AM & PM Services seperately
Hi I just got Power Plus 9 and use windows XP. We have two services on Sundays and counters different for both. Therefore we have 2 forms to balance too. Is there a way to record them so the reports show which service they are. So far I am the only one using it so have used the following day or write by hand. Also I have posted the first and run reports on the unposted for the other. Just thought there might be a simpler way. Thanks for your help The program has great potential as I work through the learning process. God Bless your day

The only way to really accomplish this is to set up different funds for each period. For example, you could have a "Morning Offering" fund and an "Evening Offering" fund. Of course, it would get complicated if you wanted to track different funds like memorial, building, etc given morning or night. If that's the case, maybe using two separate dates could be the way to go. You could use Sunday's date for AM and Monday's date for PM. Since both of those batches will likely go into the bank in the same deposit, make sure you specify that when you post in Contributions.
Unless you really need to track the separate services, what we do is just have one group of counters do it all. Count the loose offerings, enter checks and envelopes, make the deposit slips, and drop off the deposits at the bank in the drop box.
They verify the checks via the bank deposit slip to make sure that the checks were entered properly, each person counts the money, so there's a recount, and then the bank does a third count when they do the deposit. We've only seen problems when there was alot of coin ... usually a few cents either way.

similar problem
I have a similar problem in that we have 3 different bank accounts for different funds (general operating fund, building fund, designated fund), so if I do contribution for multiple funds, they all show up on the same deposit ticket report even though they are for different funds (and different bank accounts). The only way I've gotten around it is to do all the general operating funds first, change the date, and then count the other funds. You can then run a deposit ticket report by date. I wish the system would allow you to run report on the deposit ticket by fund.
