We have a married couple who have pledged to the general fund. They were set up under 2 different envelopes. Normally, I would just put the pledge under the husbands envelope and direct all the checks to that envelope as well, but his wife has her own business and will often write a check to the church on her business check. These I put towards her envelope, which makes it difficult when it comes to the pledge and the contribution statements.

I was wondering if it would be better to give them the same envelope number? If so, how would I go about doing this?
Do you have another suggestion that might be better?

Its best going under one envelope. To do this pull down the contriburtions menu, and select the Reassign an envelope number selection. When the dialogue box appears, enter the envelope number you're moving in the first block, and the one you want to keep in the second.

All the entries will move to the one envelope number.

NOTE: This is assuming that you have issued each spouse a number with their personal profiles, and these personal profiles are under one mailing list profile.

If not, move the wife's personal profile to the mailing list profile with the spouse, and then do the reassignment.
